Creating spaces for the future
Our Commitment
For us at Lang & Cie. Rhein-Ruhr, sustainable real estate development means implementing the highest environmental, social, and economic standards. In doing so, we adhere to the quality requirements of the DGNB as well as the guidelines of the EU Taxonomy Regulation. We develop complex new-construction and existing-property projects that have a positive impact on the environment, users, and cities—both today and in the future—in an efficient, smart, and ESG-compliant manner.
Our properties are characterized by innovative solutions that combine energy efficiency, resource conservation, and long-term value retention while meeting regulatory requirements for environmental and climate protection.
Environmental Certifications
Sustainable construction with certifications meeting the highest standards: DGNB Gold and DGNB Platinum, ESG/EU Taxonomy Certificate of Conformity. These recognized building certifications stand for environmentally friendly construction methods and efficient use of resources—the foundation for future-proof real estate projects.

Outstanding Projects
heylo pilot project
Setting new standards for sustainable refurbishment
With heylo, we’re showcasing the transformation of an aging single-tenant property into a technologically advanced multi-tenant office that meets the “BEG Efficiency Building 100” energy standard. As part of the comprehensive renovation, we have fundamentally upgraded the existing building with future-proof technology and intelligent sensor systems. By pre-installing modern photovoltaic modules on the roof, we have also laid the groundwork for a CO2 reduction of more than 100 kg CO2 /m²a when the systems are in use.
What Sets Us Apart
As developers of ambitious new-construction and complex existing-building projects, we take a holistic approach and balance the interests of users, investors, and local communities—especially when faced with challenging tasks. Economic, environmental, social, and corporate responsibility form the foundation of our actions, upon which we structure our project developments and ensure they remain manageable. In this way, we create sustainable investments that go far beyond the standard.
Our Approach
For us, sustainability means taking responsibility for the entire life cycle of a property—from the initial project concept through planning and construction to long-term operation. That is why we view environmental, economic, technical, and social aspects as an inseparable whole and focus on both sophisticated new construction and the intelligent redevelopment of existing buildings. Where appropriate, we preserve the building fabric, improve energy efficiency, integrate modern building technology, and create flexible usage concepts for future generations. We view sustainability not as an end in itself but as an integral part of our entire development process and our comprehensive life-cycle approach. Our goal is to create buildings that function reliably over the long term, featuring measurable environmental improvements, high technical quality, and economic viability—buildings that will win over users and investors for years to come.
Vision
This is precisely where we see the contribution of Lang & Cie. Rhein-Ruhr: developing high-quality real estate projects that combine environmental responsibility, economic success, and technical excellence, thereby creating sustainable added value for investors, users, local communities, and the Rhine-Ruhr region.
